Document checklist for the income tax return

In the pre-filled return: for each item, whether it is already there, only partly there and needs checking, or not there and you must bring it.

  • Certificazione Unica (CU), the employment or pension income statement: already there
  • Medical expenses (itemised pharmacy receipts, invoices, prescription charges): already there
  • Interest on the mortgage for a main home: already there
  • School and university costs: already there
  • Children’s sports activities: not there, to be provided
  • Contracts and bank transfers for renovation and energy-efficiency work: partly, to be checked
  • Insurance premiums qualifying for tax credits: already there
  • Social security contributions and payments into pension funds: already there
  • Charitable donations: partly, to be checked
  • F24 forms for the payments on account made: already there
  • Property changes (deeds of sale, inheritances): partly, to be checked
  • For VAT-registered persons: invoices issued and received, daily takings, bank statements: not there, to be provided

Even where an item already appears it still has to be checked: the Agenzia delle Entrate leaves out information that is incomplete or inconsistent and lists it separately in the schedule.
